Speed trial of Talgo train conducted between Bareilly and Moradabad

After the successful launch of high-speed Gatimaan Express, the Railways today conducted the much-awaited trials of the Spanish Talgo train between Bareilly and Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh as part of its strategy to increase the speed of trains. 
Nine Talgo coaches were hauled by a 4,500 HP diesel engine for a trial run from Bareilly at 8.50 am at a speed ranging between 80-115 km per hour. 

The trial has been conducted with empty coaches and after filling those with sand bags. 

The trial run will continue for two weeks and after that it will be tried on Rajdhani route between Mathura and Palwal for 40 days with speed up to 180 km per hour. 

Railways PRO told mediapersons, that the trial of Talgo is taking place in three phases. 

First trial is from Bareilly to Moradabad, Second phase will be between Mathura and palwal and the third phase will be between Delhi and Mumbai. 

He added that on the completion of the trials, the railway ministry will decide that where and when this train will run.
