PCB set to appoint Mudassar Nazar as cricket committee chief

Former all-rounder Mudassar Nazar is all set to be named as the head of Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) new cricket committee formed to look after all the international and domestic affairs related to the game.
PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan has confirmed the appointment of Mudassar as the director of regional cricket academies. The announcement is likely to come next week, a PCB source told PTI.

Mudassar, 60, has resigned from his coaching position in the ICC's global cricket academy in Dubai to take up the PCB assignment.
Mudassar, who played 76 Tests and 122 ODIs, was also in the running for the position of Pakistan's head coach.
Pakistan have appointed former South Africa player Mickey Arthur as coach of the senior team after former coach Waqar Younis resigned following the team's dismal Asia Cup T20 and World Twenty20 campaigns.
It is also understood that former Test spinner Iqbal Qasim and former national women's cricket captain Urooj Mumtaz will be the other two members of the cricket committee.
The cricket committee was previously headed by a non-cricketer Shakil Shaikh.
