NSS awards declared

The National Service Scheme awards for 2015-16 for institutions and individuals under the Department of Technical Education have been declared.
The awards for the best NSS units go to the Mar Athanesius College of Engineering, Kothamangalam, Ernakulam; Government Polytechnic College, Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram; Sri Chithira Tirunal College of Engineering, Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram; Royal College of Engineering and
Technology, Akkikkavu, Thrissur; Government Polytechnic College, Punoor, Kollam; and to the Kerala Government Polytechnic College, West Hill, Kozhikode.
Programme officers
The awards for best programme officers go to Jai M. Paul, B. Sunil Kumar, S. Jijoy, R. Krishnakumar, Beena Kumari and T. S. Sharathchandra Babu.
The awards for the best volunteers go to P. Suhail Hamsa, Sariga P. Anand, B.A. Athira, Mukesh Murali Nair, C. Naji Mahfood, P.C. Mehthab, Anuja Mohanakurup, Ann Susan Thomas, E. Jalsa John, A. Harsha, Jojo Mathew, C. K. Mohammed Muneer and to Amalu Shilbi.
The HHM JDT Islam Polytechic has been chosen for a special award for the Punarjani programme conducted at the Medical College, Kozhikode. The awards for volunteers who scored high marks goes to Nithish P. Nair, G. S. Sreechand, C. Anjana, K. Anusha, P. M. Amaldev and to A. J. George Godwin.
A press note issued here said the awards would be distributed at the annual meeting of the NSS to be held here in June.
